RSUST Pre-Degree Programme Duration and Admission Requirements

DURATION: The duration for the program is two semesters (one academic session).
MODE OF STUDY: Mode of study is face to face at the Rivers State University, Port Harcourt.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Applicants seeking for admission into the Pre-degree Programme are expected to possess a minimum of five O’Level (WAEC/NECO) Credits in English Language, Mathematics and three other relevant Science subjects. Applicants for Basic Medicine are expected to have the required five O’Level Credits at one sitting.

Accepted candidates must enroll and write the 2021/2022 JAMB/UTME with relevant subject combinations to any programme and obtain the minimum UTME approved cut-off point for Rivers State University.

How to Apply for RSUST Pre-Degree Admission Form

To apply, candidates are to visit the Rivers State University website www.ust.edu.ng and follow the link for the 2021/2022 Pre-degree Programme Application. Application Form are to be completed online (with candidate’s phone number) upon payment of application fee of N15,000 (Fifteen Thousand Naira) only. Applicants will be expected to bring their SSCE/GCE/NECO certificates/result slips during clearance and registration.

The deadline for the application is 31st March 2022.

FUTA Post-UTME/D.E Form for 2021/2022 Academic Session

The authorities of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) has released the Post-Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry screening exercise application form for the 2021/2022 academic session.

The registration period is scheduled for Monday, 10th and 24th January 2022.

Eligibility for FUTA Post UTME

Candidates who made the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) their Institution of choice and obtained a minimum score of 180 marks in the 2021 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), which was conducted by the Joint Admissions Matriculation Board (JAMB), can apply. Direct Entry candidates are also eligible and are required to sit for the Pre-Admission Screening Exercise.

FUTA post UTME form can be obtained at the sum of N2,000.00 (Two Thousand Naira) only payable at any bank on REMITA platform only.

Candidates applying for FUTA post UTME form should kindly follow the procedure below:

i. Visit the University website (www.futa.edu.ng) for information
ii. Login with their UTME Number
iii. Generate RRR, make PAYMENT on REMITA platform and CONFIRM the payment
iv. Complete and submit the University Post-UTME Application form online
v. Print out a copy.

The Registration Form is mandatory for all eligible candidates to complete the screening exercise. Please note that the candidate’s UTME Registration Number and the Full Names (as it is on JAMB Slip) should be correctly provided at the point of payment and registration.

FUTA Post UTME Screening Schedule & Requirements

The Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) Computer-Based Pre-Admission Screening Exercise has been scheduled to take place from Wednesday, 26th to Friday, 28th January 2022 at the university campus.

Please Note that:
(1). All candidates are to bring along the following items to the screening venue:
*Depositor’s copy of Bank Teller indicating payments as appropriate;
*JAMB UTME Notification of Results/Registration slips;
*A printed copy of the completed FUTA Post-UTME Online Registration Form;
*Print-out of REMITA payment receipt (collected from the Bank) and
*One passport photograph.
*Candidates who would like to have a feel of the CBT Practice Module should visit FUTA WEBSITE. Even though this is OPTIONAL, it is highly recommended to enable candidates to get acquainted with the processes of the exercise.

(2). The venue of the screening exercise is the FUTA Digital Resource Centre, “Obanla Campus”, The Federal University of Technology, Akure.
(3). Candidates are NOT allowed to bring cell phones, IPad, Walkman, wristwatches, sunglasses or any other electronic gadget and extraneous materials into the screening hall.

PTDF Overseas Postgraduate Scholarship 2022/2023 (M.Sc & Ph.D) For Nigerians to Study in UK, France, Germany & Malaysia

The Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF), the Federal Government agency with the mandate of developing indigenous human capacity and petroleum technology to meet the needs of the oil and gas industry, is inviting applications from suitably eligible candidates for the Overseas MSc and PhD scholarships to specific programmes at selected institutions under its PTDF Overseas Scholarship Scheme for the 2022/2023 academic session.

The scheme was developed in order to offer candidates the opportunity to benefit from a diversified pool of knowledge and the facilities offered by world-class institutions across the globe. Candidates under it are invited to apply through PTDF to specific programmes at the partner institutions. The award includes the provision of flight tickets, payment of health insurance, payment of tuition and bench fees (where applicable), and the provision of allowances to meet the costs of living and accommodation.

PTDF Overseas Scholarship Eligibility
For Ph.D Applicants:

i. Must have completed the mandatory National Youth Service (NYSC)
ii. Must be computer literate
iii. Must possess a minimum of Second Class Lower (2.2) in their first degree and a good second-degree certificate.
iv. A research proposal relevant to the oil and gas industry (of not more than five pages) to include: Topic, introduction, objective, methodology and mode of data collection.
v. All lecturers must produce a letter from their Vice Chancellor confirming that they are not in receipt of any other scholarships.
vi. Applicants must have a National Identity Number (NIN) before applying for the scholarship. Applicants should note that they will be required to verify their NIN before proceeding with the application (NIMC verification charges apply).

For M.Sc Applicants:

i. Applicants must have a minimum of Second Class Upper (2.1) qualification in their first degree or a Second Class Lower (2.2) with relevant industry experience
ii. Applicants Must have completed the mandatory National Youth Service (NYSC)

iv. Must possess 5 O’level credits, including English Language and Mathematics.
v. Applicants must provide statement of purpose (maximum 500 words) stating the reason(s) for the proposed study, its relevance to the industry and its expected impact on national development.

PTDF scholarships has a high rate of competition and only outstanding applicants across board are selected. A selection committee will be constituted to assess applications using the following criteria;

ii. Membership of professional bodies
iii. The viability of the study/research plan (PhD Applicants only).

How to Apply for Eni Scholarships 2022/2023

To be considered for the scholarship, applicants should please follow the steps listed below.

i. Apply online to the University of Oxford for one of the eligible courses listed above. You must submit your application for graduate study to the University by the January deadline (7th or 21st January 2022 depending on the program applied to – check the University’s guidance on application deadlines) and you must have secured a place on your chosen program of study by the final completion date (1st March 2022). It would help if you select St Antony’s College in the college choice section of the application form, though this is not compulsory.
ii. After you have applied to the University, please complete the online Eni Scholarship application form. The deadline for submission of the form is 5pm, UK time, on 1st March 2022.

UNILORIN Postgraduate Programmes, Duration & General Information

(1). Ph.D. Degree Programmes

These are available to holders of M.A; M.Ed.; M.Eng.; M.Sc.; LL.M; M.Comm.H.; and M.P.H degrees, with a minimum of 60% or cumulative Grade Point Average score in their Master degree programmes. A Ph.D. degree programme runs for a minimum period of 36 calendar months and a maximum period of 48 calendar months for full-time candidates OR a minimum period of 48 calendar months and a maximum period of 60 calendar months for part-time candidates. Relevant Courses will be taken for the Ph.D. studies where prescribed and a Thesis is required at the end of the Ph.D. programme.

(2). M.Phil /Ph.D. Degree Programmes

Candidates who obtained a score between 55.00 and 59.99 percent Cumulative Grade Point Average are eligible to apply for admission into the Master of Philosophy (M.Phil/Ph.D.) degree programme. The M.Phil/Ph.D. degree programme is available only to full-time candidates. It runs for a minimum period of 12 calendar months and a maximum period of 24 calendar months and a dissertation is produced after the research work. Candidates in this category are eligible for conversion to Ph.D. candidature, following a progress assessment report to be made by a Panel of Examiners at the end of the first session of registration. To be eligible for conversion for the Ph.D. program, candidates should not score less than 60% (aggregate) at the end of the first session.

(3). Master Degree Programmes

M.A.; M.Ed.; M.Eng.; M.Sc.; M.Com.H., LL.M and M.P.H. degrees run for a minimum period of 24 calendar months and a maximum period of 36 calendar months for full-time candidates OR a minimum period of 36 calendar months and a maximum period of 48 calendar months for part-time candidates. All Master Degree Programmes are by course work. This is in addition to a research report at the end of which a dissertation is produced

(4). Postgraduate Diploma Degree Programmes

Postgraduate Diploma degrees are available to candidates with a Third class (honours) degree.

(5). General information

The Postgraduate academic session for Postgraduate programmes is 12 calendar months, beginning on 2nd October and ending on 30th September of the following year. The 12 calendar months starts to count automatically from the date of first registration.
Applicants should note that programmes automatically lapses at the expiration of the prescribed maximum duration for each programme. A candidate may, however, apply for an extension of not more than 6 months, in the first instance, subject to a maximum of two such extensions.

ii. HND in Computer Science or Engineering from recognized Polytechnics with a minimum of Lower Credit; and
iii. HND in any other discipline different from those in (ii) but preferably from Sciences or Social Sciences with a minimum of Lower Credit from a recognized Polytechnic or equivalent Institution, with at least one year cognate experience.

(2). Applicants for Postgraduate Diploma in Statistics shall satisfy one of the following:
i. A minimum of an honour’s degree from a recognized University in any of Science and Social Science disciplines;
ii. HND in Statistics from a recognized Polytechnic with a minimum of Lower Credit.

(3). M.A. Peace and Security Studies is OPEN ONLY to participants of the Executive Intelligence Management Course (EIMC) of the Institute of Security Studies, Abuja. The M.A. Peace and Strategic Studies is OPEN ONLY to participants in the Executive Management Course (EMC) of the Nigerian Army School of Education (NASE), Ilorin or any other equivalent programme approved by NASE.

(4). The M.Sc. Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) is OPEN ONLY to participants of the Natural Water Institute, Kaduna.

(5). Applicants for Master of Public Health (MPH) shall satisfy the following:
i. Have obtained their first degree in one of the following fields; Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing, Physiotherapy, Optometry, Nutrition & Dietetics, Veterinary Medicine, Medical Laboratory Science or any other relevant Clinical Science degree;
ii. Have at least 2 years working experience in health facility, ministry of health, UN agencies or health related government and non-governmental agencies.

UNILORIN Postgraduate Admission Eligibility

i. All Certificates will be available at the point of purchasing the application form. The National Youth Service Corp Discharge Certificate OR Exemption Certificate should be presented.

ii. Candidates are required to submit their application forms online along with the scanned copies of their credentials.

iii. All supporting documents in (i) above and the hard copy of the application form should be forwarded to the Secretary, Postgraduate School, University of Ilorin, Ilorin, Nigeria, while the submission of Transcripts of Academic Records should be to the Head of Department where the admission is being sought. The Postgraduate School will not be held liable for any misdirected transcript, please.

iv. All candidates must have 5 O/L Credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics.

v. Applicants for the Master degree programmes who are graduates of the University of Ilorin and other recognized universities must have a minimum of Second Class Honours Degree (Lower Division) and must be applying for programmes in which they have their first degrees. However, applicants with Second Class Honours Degree (Lower Division) and those with higher classes of degrees seeking admissions into programmes outside those in which they have their first degrees may be admitted, provided they satisfy Senate in a qualifying examination to be conducted. The least class of Degree for all academic programme applicants is Second Class Honours Degree (Lower Division), regardless of the institution where the Bachelor’s degree is obtained. ALL candidates shall apply early for their official Bachelor’s degree transcript to be sent to the Head of Department where the admission is being sought, before the expiration of the stated deadline in (i) above.

vi. Applicants for the Ph.D. degree programme shall have obtained a relevant Master degree of this or other recognized University, with an average weighted score of at least 60%. Short-listed candidates would be required to satisfy the Postgraduate School in the qualifying interviews and assessments by the relevant Department. Applicants are, therefore, advised to interact with the department to which they have applied to ascertain the date of the interview for the Ph.D. degree programme. Regardless of the Institution where the Master degree was obtained, all candidates must apply early for the official copy of their academic transcripts to be sent to the Head of Department where the admission is being sought for the purpose of this admission and before the expiration of the stated deadline.

vii. All Higher Degree candidates that attended foreign Universities, where English language is not the medium of instruction, should submit to the Postgraduate School, evidence of their English Language proficiency, e.g. TOEFL or IELTS scores obtained within the validity period of such certifications.

viii. Applicants for the Postgraduate Diplomas and Master degree Programmes will be subjected to a written assessment (qualifying examination), irrespective of the class of degree obtained, except applicants from the University of Ilorin with a First Class and Second Class, Upper Division (Honours).

ix. International applicants (Applicants who are domiciled outside Nigeria, and non- Nigerians, applying from outside the country) shall be exempted from the qualifying examination. However, International applicants applying from outside the country for the Doctor of Philosophy programmes shall be requested to submit a proposal of not more than 5 pages, giving details of what research they intend to carry out. x. Applicants applying for any of the Full-time programme of the University are expected to present a letter of release from their employers at the point of registration.

How to Apply for UNILORIN Postgraduate Admission Form

The application form for all programmes can be obtained at a fee of N25, 000.00 only for Applicants within Nigeria OR $200.00 only for International Applicants.

All application forms are to be completed online not later than Friday, 11th February 2022. Note that the latest date for receipt of supporting documents is Friday, 25th February 2022. Successful applicants would be notified through their University of Ilorin application portal.

UNIBEN Admission List for 2021/2022 Academic Session

The list of candidates that have been offered provisional admission into the University of Benin (UNIBEN) DEGREE programmes for the 2021/2022 academic session has been released on the school portal and on the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Central Admission Processing System (CAPS) portal.

This is to therefore inform all the candidates who participated in the University of Benin (UNIBEN) post UTME screening exercise that the school management has released the list of candidates who have been offered provisional admission into its various undergraduate programmes for the 2021/2022 academic session.

The UNIBEN admission list is now accessible online.

How to Check UNIBEN Admission List

Currently, UNIBEN prospective students can only check their admission status on the JAMB admission status checking portal by following the procedure highlighted below:

i. Visit the JAMB admission portal at https://portal.jamb.gov.ng/efacility_/.
ii. Login to your Jamb profile with your username and password.
iii. Scroll down then locate and click the ‘Check Admission Status‘ tab.
iv. Select your Exam year and enter your registration number in the required column.
v. Lastly, click on ‘Check Admission Status‘ to access your admission status.

Candidates yet to be admitted should note that admission is still in progress, and constantly check the JAMB site and the University website for their admission status.

UNIBEN Admission List

Successfully admitted candidates of the University of Benin (UNIBEN) degree programmes are recommended to:

(1). Proceed to the UNIBEN website for clearance and payment of the acceptance fee.
(2). Login to their JAMB Central Admission Processing System (CAPS) and ACCEPT or REJECT their admission.
(3). Print their JAMB admission letter after accepting the admission.
(4). Print their original JAMB result slip (this comes with passport photography attached to it).
(5). Apply for a change of course on the JAMB Portal in case they have been offered courses different from the ones they initially applied for.

Pending when the list will be uploaded on the university’s portal, it is important to note the following procedures highlighted below once the list is uploaded on the university website.

i. Visit UNIBEN admission status checking portal at https://uniben.waeup.org/applicants/checkstatus.
ii. Enter your Registration Number or Applicant Id and Surname in the required fields.
iii. Click on Submit and proceed to view your admission status.
