This is to specially notify all the candidates who applied for admission into the Ekiti State University (EKSU) postgraduate programmes during the 2021/2022 academic session that they can now access their admission status.

The management of the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) postgraduate school has commenced the sale of applications forms for admission into its various PGD, Master, M.Phil and Ph.D. Degree programmes for the 2021/2022 academic session.

Applications are therefore invited from suitably eligible candidates for admission into the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) postgraduate programmes (Ph.D. Degree, M.Phil /Ph.D. Degree, Master Degree and Postgraduate Diploma) for the 2021/2022 academic session.

UNILORIN Postgraduate Programmes, Duration & General Information

(1). Ph.D. Degree Programmes

These are available to holders of M.A; M.Ed.; M.Eng.; M.Sc.; LL.M; M.Comm.H.; and M.P.H degrees, with a minimum of 60% or cumulative Grade Point Average score in their Master degree programmes. A Ph.D. degree programme runs for a minimum period of 36 calendar months and a maximum period of 48 calendar months for full-time candidates OR a minimum period of 48 calendar months and a maximum period of 60 calendar months for part-time candidates. Relevant Courses will be taken for the Ph.D. studies where prescribed and a Thesis is required at the end of the Ph.D. programme.

(2). M.Phil /Ph.D. Degree Programmes

Candidates who obtained a score between 55.00 and 59.99 percent Cumulative Grade Point Average are eligible to apply for admission into the Master of Philosophy (M.Phil/Ph.D.) degree programme. The M.Phil/Ph.D. degree programme is available only to full-time candidates. It runs for a minimum period of 12 calendar months and a maximum period of 24 calendar months and a dissertation is produced after the research work. Candidates in this category are eligible for conversion to Ph.D. candidature, following a progress assessment report to be made by a Panel of Examiners at the end of the first session of registration. To be eligible for conversion for the Ph.D. program, candidates should not score less than 60% (aggregate) at the end of the first session.

(3). Master Degree Programmes

M.A.; M.Ed.; M.Eng.; M.Sc.; M.Com.H., LL.M and M.P.H. degrees run for a minimum period of 24 calendar months and a maximum period of 36 calendar months for full-time candidates OR a minimum period of 36 calendar months and a maximum period of 48 calendar months for part-time candidates. All Master Degree Programmes are by course work. This is in addition to a research report at the end of which a dissertation is produced

(4). Postgraduate Diploma Degree Programmes

Postgraduate Diploma degrees are available to candidates with a Third class (honours) degree.

(5). General information

The Postgraduate academic session for Postgraduate programmes is 12 calendar months, beginning on 2nd October and ending on 30th September of the following year. The 12 calendar months starts to count automatically from the date of first registration.
Applicants should note that programmes automatically lapses at the expiration of the prescribed maximum duration for each programme. A candidate may, however, apply for an extension of not more than 6 months, in the first instance, subject to a maximum of two such extensions.

UNILORIN Postgraduate Admission Specific Requirements

(1). Applicants for the Postgraduate Diploma in Computer Science shall satisfy one of the following:
i. A minimum of first degree in any of the following disciplines from a recognised University: Sciences, Engineering, Social Sciences or the Humanities.
ii. HND in Computer Science or Engineering from recognized Polytechnics with a minimum of Lower Credit; and
iii. HND in any other discipline different from those in (ii) but preferably from Sciences or Social Sciences with a minimum of Lower Credit from a recognized Polytechnic or equivalent Institution, with at least one year cognate experience.

(2). Applicants for Postgraduate Diploma in Statistics shall satisfy one of the following:
i. A minimum of an honour’s degree from a recognized University in any of Science and Social Science disciplines;
ii. HND in Statistics from a recognized Polytechnic with a minimum of Lower Credit.

(3). M.A. Peace and Security Studies is OPEN ONLY to participants of the Executive Intelligence Management Course (EIMC) of the Institute of Security Studies, Abuja. The M.A. Peace and Strategic Studies is OPEN ONLY to participants in the Executive Management Course (EMC) of the Nigerian Army School of Education (NASE), Ilorin or any other equivalent programme approved by NASE.

(4). The M.Sc. Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) is OPEN ONLY to participants of the Natural Water Institute, Kaduna.

(5). Applicants for Master of Public Health (MPH) shall satisfy the following:
i. Have obtained their first degree in one of the following fields; Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing, Physiotherapy, Optometry, Nutrition & Dietetics, Veterinary Medicine, Medical Laboratory Science or any other relevant Clinical Science degree;
ii. Have at least 2 years working experience in health facility, ministry of health, UN agencies or health related government and non-governmental agencies.

UNILORIN Postgraduate Admission Eligibility

i. All Certificates will be available at the point of purchasing the application form. The National Youth Service Corp Discharge Certificate OR Exemption Certificate should be presented.

ii. Candidates are required to submit their application forms online along with the scanned copies of their credentials.

iii. All supporting documents in (i) above and the hard copy of the application form should be forwarded to the Secretary, Postgraduate School, University of Ilorin, Ilorin, Nigeria, while the submission of Transcripts of Academic Records should be to the Head of Department where the admission is being sought. The Postgraduate School will not be held liable for any misdirected transcript, please.

iv. All candidates must have 5 O/L Credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics.

v. Applicants for the Master degree programmes who are graduates of the University of Ilorin and other recognized universities must have a minimum of Second Class Honours Degree (Lower Division) and must be applying for programmes in which they have their first degrees. However, applicants with Second Class Honours Degree (Lower Division) and those with higher classes of degrees seeking admissions into programmes outside those in which they have their first degrees may be admitted, provided they satisfy Senate in a qualifying examination to be conducted. The least class of Degree for all academic programme applicants is Second Class Honours Degree (Lower Division), regardless of the institution where the Bachelor’s degree is obtained. ALL candidates shall apply early for their official Bachelor’s degree transcript to be sent to the Head of Department where the admission is being sought, before the expiration of the stated deadline in (i) above.

vi. Applicants for the Ph.D. degree programme shall have obtained a relevant Master degree of this or other recognized University, with an average weighted score of at least 60%. Short-listed candidates would be required to satisfy the Postgraduate School in the qualifying interviews and assessments by the relevant Department. Applicants are, therefore, advised to interact with the department to which they have applied to ascertain the date of the interview for the Ph.D. degree programme. Regardless of the Institution where the Master degree was obtained, all candidates must apply early for the official copy of their academic transcripts to be sent to the Head of Department where the admission is being sought for the purpose of this admission and before the expiration of the stated deadline.

vii. All Higher Degree candidates that attended foreign Universities, where English language is not the medium of instruction, should submit to the Postgraduate School, evidence of their English Language proficiency, e.g. TOEFL or IELTS scores obtained within the validity period of such certifications.

viii. Applicants for the Postgraduate Diplomas and Master degree Programmes will be subjected to a written assessment (qualifying examination), irrespective of the class of degree obtained, except applicants from the University of Ilorin with a First Class and Second Class, Upper Division (Honours).

ix. International applicants (Applicants who are domiciled outside Nigeria, and non- Nigerians, applying from outside the country) shall be exempted from the qualifying examination. However, International applicants applying from outside the country for the Doctor of Philosophy programmes shall be requested to submit a proposal of not more than 5 pages, giving details of what research they intend to carry out. x. Applicants applying for any of the Full-time programme of the University are expected to present a letter of release from their employers at the point of registration.

How to Apply for UNILORIN Postgraduate Admission Form

The application form for all programmes can be obtained at a fee of N25, 000.00 only for Applicants within Nigeria OR $200.00 only for International Applicants.

All application forms are to be completed online not later than Friday, 11th February 2022. Note that the latest date for receipt of supporting documents is Friday, 25th February 2022. Successful applicants would be notified through their University of Ilorin application portal.

LASU supplementary postgraduate admission for 2020/2021 Academic session

The Lagos State University (LASU), Ojo, Postgraduate School is inviting applications from suitably eligible candidates for admission into the under listed postgraduate programmes for the 2020/2021 academic session.

General Requirements for LASU supplementary postgraduate admission

The University requires five (5) CREDITS including English Language at O’Level (GCE, WASC, SSCE, NECO and NABTEB) for ALL courses and credit in MATHEMATICS at O’Level for SCIENCE, SOCIAL SCIENCES, MANAGEMENT SCIENCES.

FACULTY OF SCIENCE

Postgraduate Diploma in Pest and Environmental Management

Admission Requirements: The following categories would be eligible for admission for the PGD PEM Programme:

i. B.Sc degree with at least Third (3rd) Class in Zoology, Agricultural Science, Fisheries, Biology, Biochemistry, Botany, Microbiology and any related discipline from the Lagos State University or any other University recognized by the Senate of Lagos State University.

ii. B.Ed degree in Biology of at least Third (3rd) class from Lagos State University or any other University recognized by the Senate of Lagos State University.

iii. Higher National Diploma (HND) in Environmental Studies Forestry, Health Technology, Science Laboratory Technology, Medical Science Laboratory Technology, and any other relevant course.

iv. Applicants must satisfy the O’Level admission requirements as recommended by the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) for undergraduate Biology and related courses.

DURATION: This programme will run for 2 (two) semesters.

FACULTY OF MANAGEMENT SCIENCES

Department of Management Technology

(1). M.Phil/Ph.D Project Management

To be eligible for admission into the M.Phil/Ph.D programme in Project Management, the applicant must possess or meet a combination of the following:

i. M.Sc degree in
*Project Management,
*Project Management Technology,
*Production and Operations Management,
*Economics,
*Civil Engineering,
*Mechanical Engineering,
*Industrial and Production Engineering,
*Electrical and Electronics Engineering,
*Computer Science and Engineering,
*Mathematics,
*Statistics,
*Physics and other related courses of the Lagos State University or any other University recognized by the Senate of Lagos State University with a CGPA of at least 3.50.

ii. Five O’Level credits which must include English Language and Mathematics, in not more than two (2) sittings.

Candidate must satisfy all other conditions as stated in the general regulation governing postgraduate degrees at the Lagos State University.

DURATION: For M.Phil/Ph.D candidates, the programme will run for a minimum of eight (8) semesters from the date of first registration;

A period of study and research initially approved for the M.Phil/Ph.D may, following the M.Phil/Ph.D assessment and conversion be accepted as part of the period of study required for the Ph.D degree.

(2). Ph.D Project Management.

To be eligible for admission into the Ph.D programme in Project Management, the candidate must possess or meet a combination of the following:

i. M.Sc degree in Project Management or Production and Operation Management of Lagos State University or any other University recognized by the Senate of Lagos State University with a CGPA not lower than 4.00;

Candidate with MPhil degree in the discipline listed above with CGPA not lower than 4.00 may be admitted into the Ph.D programme;

ii. Five O’Level credits which must include English Language and Mathematics, in not more than two (2) sittings.

Candidate must satify all other conditions as stated in the general regulation governing postgraduate degree at the Lagos State University.

DURATION: The Ph.D degree programme for all departments will normally last not less than six [6] semesters from the date of first registration in the case of full-time registration and not less than eight [8] semesters for part-time registration.

No candidate will be offered part-time registration unless the faculty is satisfied that supervision will be effective throughout the period of studentship.

The studentship of a Ph.D candidate will elapse if after eight (8) consecutive semesters of full-time study, or twelve (12) consecutive semesters of part-time study [or an equivalent period, pro-rata for a combination of part-time and full-time registration], a student has not presented himself/herself for the final and required Ph.D thesis oral examination.

FACULTY OF SOCIAL SCIENCE

Department Of Sociology

(1). Doctor of Social Work (DSW)

Admission Requirements: To be eligible for admission into Doctor of Social Work [DSW] Professional Programme in Social Work, applicants must;

i. Meet the general matriculation requirements of admission into Nigerian universities, including O’level English Language and Mathematics. However, matured candidates with not less than ten (10) years of professional working experience but have issues in O’Level Mathematics requirement may be considered for registration.

ii. Possess first degree in Sociology or other Social Sciences or Humanities [minimum of second class lower of Lagos State University or any other university recognized by the Senate of Lagos State University, Higher National Diploma [HND] with minimum of lower credit in cognate disciplines.

iii. Possess Master’s degree in Social Work with a CGPA not lower than 3.0 on a 5.0 point scale or M.Sc degree in cognate department from Lagos State University or any other University recognized by LASU Senate.

iv. Any other requirements in addition to [i], [ii] and [iii] above as may be approved by the Senate of Lagos State University.

Areas of Specialization

Candidates can specialize in any of the areas of Social Work interest as highlighted below:

*Medical and Public Health Social Work;

*Community Development Social Work;

*Industrial Social Work Administration and Welfare Management;

For extension beyond the specified maximum period, a special permission of the Board of School of Postgraduate Studies will be required.

(2). Master in Criminology and Security Studies [MCSS]

Admission Requirements: To be eligible for admission into Master in Criminology and Security Studies [MCSS] Professional Programme, applicants must;

i. Meet the general matriculation requirements of admission into Nigerian universities, including O’level English Language and Mathematics. However, matured candidates with not less than 10 years of professional working experience but have issues in O’Level Mathematics requirement may be considered for registration.

LASU supplementary postgraduate admission

How to apply for LASU supplementary postgraduate admission

To proceed to the application of the LASU supplementary postgraduate admission, applicants are required to pay a non-refundable application fee of Twenty Five Thousand Three Hundred Naira (N25,300.00) into LASU Account online.

All applicants will be required to take part in a qualifying Entrance Examination on the Main Campus.

NOTE: Visit the University website www.lasu.edu.ng for more detailed information on admission requirements.

DEADLINE: Sale of application forms will be closed four (4) weeks from the date of this publication.

Application forms for all programmes should be submitted online and a copy of the e-Registration slip should be printed out by the applicant.

IMPORTANT NOTE

i. Candidates who are yet to completed the National Youth Service Corps assignment or their current Postgraduate Programmes need not apply.

RSUST Postgraduate Admission Form for 2020/2021 Academic Session

The management of the Rivers State University of Science and Technology (RSUST), Nkpolu-Oroworukwo, Port Harcourt, is inviting application from suitably eligible candidates for admission into Postgraduate Programmes of the university for the 2020/2021 academic session.

Requirements for RSUST Postgraduate Admission form

Applicants who possess the qualifications in the following underlisted categories will be eligible for admission into the postgraduate programmes; however, candidates must also fulfil the Rivers State University of Science and Technology’s matriculation requirements Nkpolu-Orowomkwo, Port Harcourt.

Postgraduate Diploma

a. Holders of at least a Third Class Degree in the subject area applied for or a Second Class (Lower Division) degree in a related discipline, obtained from the Rivers State University of Science and Technology or any other recognized institution.

b. Holders of Higher National Diploma (HND) with at least lower credit classification or its equivalent in a related discipline, obtained from a recognized institution.

c. For Faculty of Engineering, candidates must possess at least a Third Class or Pass degree in a related discipline from a recognized institution.

d. Candidates for PGD in the Department of Electrical Engineering must have obtained a B.Sc. or B.Tech. Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering; Physics with Electronics or Computer Science.

Master’s Degree programmes

a. Candidates seeking admission into the Full-time/Part-time Master’s degree programme must be a Bachelor’s degree holder with at least Second Class Lower Division in the relevant discipline.

b. Candidates who have obtained PGD, PGDE, PGDTE in the relevant discipline or an equivalent Diploma (in Maritime Transport, Marine Engineering or Nautical Studies, Master Mariner, Marine Engineers Class 1) with CGPA of 3.50 or above (on a five-point grade system) may apply for the Master’s Programmes.

c. Candidates for MSc in Surveying and Geomatics must possess a B.Sc/B.Tech in Surveying and Geomatics degree with at least 2nd Class Lower Division or equivalent from the Rivers State University of Science and Technology or any other approved University;

d. Candidates for the M.Ed. Degree programmes offered in the Faculty of Technical and Science Education/Institute of Education should possess a good Bachelor’s degree (not lower than Second Class Lower Division) in a relevant teaching subject.

Doctor of Philosophy Programmes

a. Candidate for a PhD programme should Possess a Master’s degree with a CGPA of 3.50 or above, on a five-point grade system, in a relevant discipline, obtained from the Rivers State University of Science and Technology or any other recognized institution of higher learning of equivalent status.

b. Candidates for PhD in Surveying and Geomatics must have obtained an M.Sc in Surveying and Geomatics degree with a CGPA of 3.5 on a 5-point scale or 60% weighted average from Rivers State University of Science and Technology or any other institution of equivalent status.

c. Candidates should present himself or herself for a qualifying interview, if need be.

No candidate will be admitted to a programme unless the Postgraduate School Board has approved his/her application on behalf of the Senate and the appropriate Faculty Committee’s recommendation.

Note: In addition to the conditions above, it may be required of candidates to present himself/herself for a selection test and/or oral interview.

RSUST Postgraduate Admission Form

Duration for RSUST Postgraduate Admission

i. The full-time Postgraduate Diploma programmes run for two semesters (minimum) and four semesters (maximum) with or without project writing.
ii. The full-time Postgraduate Diploma programme in Engineering runs for a duration of four semesters (minimum) and six semesters (maximum) with the project.
iii. The full-time Postgraduate Diploma programme in Transport Planning and Logistics and Supply Chain Planning runs for three semesters (minimum) and four semesters (maximum).
iv. The part-time Postgraduate Diploma programme in Surveying and Geomatics runs for four semesters (minimum) and six semesters (maximum).
v. The full-time Master’s degree programme with a dissertation is structured to last for a minimum of four semesters and a maximum of six semesters.
vi. The full-time Master’s degree programme with a dissertation in the Faculty of Engineering is structured to last for a minimum of four semesters and a maximum of six semesters.
vii. The full-time Master’s degree programme in Surveying and Geomatics runs for three semesters (minimum) and six semesters (maximum).
viii. The part-time Master’s degree programme in Surveying and Geomatics runs for four semesters (minimum) and eight semesters (maximum).
ix. The full-time Master’s degree programme in Transport Planning and Logistics and Supply Chain Planning will run for four semesters (minimum) and five semesters (maximum).
x. The full-time Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programmes with thesis run for six semesters (minimum) and eight semesters (maximum).
xi. The part-time Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programme in Surveying and Geomatics runs for eight semesters (minimum) and ten semesters (maximum).
xii. Part-time study, specifically to be undertaken at weekends only, is available for Shipping Management and Maritime Transport Technology programmes for six semesters (minimum) and eight semesters (maximum).
xiii. Part-time study in Faculty of Engineering is available for PhD programmes only and runs for ten semesters (minimum) and twelve semesters (maximum).
xiv. Unless otherwise stated, part-time studies in any Faculty, where it is available, will take twice the duration allowed for the corresponding full-time programmes. Such part-time PhD programmes will last for ten semesters (minimum) and twelve semesters (maximum).
xv. The sandwich Postgraduate Diploma programmes in Education run for a minimum duration of two long vacations and a maximum of four long vacations.
xvi. The sandwich Master’s programmes with the dissertation in Education run for a minimum duration of three long vacations and a maximum of six long vacations.

Applications for admission to any postgraduate programme should be made online by logging onto www.ust.edu.ng and making an e-payment of thirty thousand naira (N30,000.00) only, using Interswitch verve – enabled cards. Application forms should be completed online, downloaded and hard copies submitted to the Secretary, Postgraduate School along with the following:

*Photocopies of Certificates.

*Certified academic transcripts. (It is the applicants’ responsibility to ensure that copies of their academic transcripts are forwarded under confidential cover directly to The Secretary, Postgraduate School, Rivers State University of Science and Technology, Nkpolu-Oroworukwo, Port Harcourt).

*Letter of reference from three referees, including one from a previous academic institution, stating that applicant is qualified to undertake advanced studies and research and that he (the Referee) is confident that the applicant will benefit from the training.

For PhD applicants, brief research proposals on their intended areas of study should also accompany the application forms.

Postgraduate Diploma (PGD)

i. All candidates are required to meet the matriculation requirements including a credit pass in English Language and Mathematics at the O’ level.
ii. Candidates with at least third class degree in the relevant field from an approved University.
iii. Candidates with HND with a minimum of credit level pass from recognized institutions.

Master of Arts (M.A), Master of Science (M.Sc) and Master of Engineering (M.Eng).

i. All candidates are required to meet the matriculation requirements including a credit pass in English Language and Mathematics at the O’ level.
ii. Candidates with at least second class honours (Lower Division) Bachelors’ Degree from an approved University.
iii. Candidates with a PGD at credit level pass.

Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D)

All candidates must:

Candidates are advised to write to the school where they graduated for transcript immediately they purchase and submit the form to avoid late submission of transcripts

*Two referees, one of which must be an academic referee (Lecturer who taught candidate in the former school, Project/ thesis Supervisor, Head of Department, Dean of Faculty
