Swiss Government Excellence Scholarships for Foreign Scholars

Study in Switzerland in Europe on this fully funded Swiss Government Excellence Scholarships programme. This scholarship is open to foreign students (scholars) for study in Switzerland. The Scholarship program is aimed at young scholars from other countries to take up studies in universities in Switzerland.

Swiss Government Scholarships – what you should know
Every year the Swiss Confederation awards Government Excellence Scholarships to encourage international exchange and cooperation in research between Switzerland and over 180 other countries. beneficiaries are selected by the awarding body, the Federal Commission for Scholarships for Foreign Students (FCS).

Scholarship program
These scholarships are available for the following program

1. The research scholarship is available to post-graduate students in any course (who hold a minimum of a masters degree) who are having it in mind to come to Switzerland to further their studies or research at doctoral or post-doctoral level. Research scholarships are awarded for study or research at all Swiss cantonal universities, universities of applied sciences and the two federal institutes of technology, The four institute or research are also not left out. Only participants selected by an academic mentor at one of these higher education institutions will be put into consideration.
2. Art scholarships is available to art students with the wish of pursuing an initial master’s degree in Switzerland.  Art scholarships are awarded for study at any Swiss conservatory or university of the arts. This scholarship is only made available to students from a limited number of countries.

Selection
Applications are subject to preparatory selection by the relevant national authorities and/or the Swiss diplomatic representation. The Federal Commission for Scholarships for Foreign Students (FCS) will then assessed the short-listed applications, after which they take the final decision.

The FCS comprises of professors from all Swiss public universities. Academic and scientific excellence is a key factor in deciding the Scholarship awards .

Clearance procedure and requirements for IAUE 2020/2021 session

The 2020/2021 clearance exercise for the UTME and Direct-Entry candidates who gained admission will begin on Monday 22nd February 2021. To guarantee that incoming candidates comply fully with the Covid-19 precautionary measures, the University has decided to robotize the clearance process as much as possible. This will make sure that incoming candidates do not gather in clusters as social distance rule must be observed, do not get stressed-out unneccessarily during the process. Therefore, the clearance process will be distributed across a number of points and in dual mode (online/physical).

Requirements and Procedure:

  • Login to your JAMB Central Admission Processing System (CAPS), accept the admission offer and print your letter of admission and result slip (colored printout only). Please note that the letter of admision will be authenticated.
  • Pay Acceptance fee of N62, 000.00 via using the following methods: Pay-Direct, Mastercard or Verve (login to enterpriseschoolsportal.iauoe.edu.ng). Payment receipt will be verified.
  • Update your bio-data and other fields with required information in the University portal.
  • Deadline for accepting your admission on JAMB CAPS and payment of acceptance fee for the candidates admitted on merit is on the 15th of March, 2021. Implication: Candidates who refuse accept their offer and pay the acceptance fee before the above-mentioned date will have their admission reversed.
  • Proceed to your Faculty Conference Hall with the documents listed below with effect from Monday, February 22nd, 2021 for verification and clearance. Clearance schedules for the Departments will be published online later.

Summary

  1. Candidates are expected to pay all fees online and advance to their Faculty Conference Hall for their physical and online clearance after acquiring all the documents needed for clearance as stated on page 2 of this document.
  2. After a candidate has been cleared by the Admissions unit, the portal will automatically generate a Clearance Approval Notice of the Admissions Office for the candidate.
  3. After a candidate has been cleared by the Faculty, the portal will also generate a Clearance Approval Notice for the candidate.
  4. After completing the clearance processes, it will be required of the candidate to print all Clearance Approval Notices (Admissions, and Faculty) and put the same in the candidate’s file jackets before finally submitting to the Faculty Officer.
  5. The candidate can now advance to online for payment of school fees.
  6. This registration for the 2020/2021 admitted candidates is then complete.

NOTE

  1. Candidates who refuse to accept the admissiom offer can visit their profiles on JAMB CAPS and reject the admission.
  2. Candidates of the Faculty of Vocational and Technical Education will have their clearance done at the Rumuolumeni Campus, at the Department of Home Economics, thereafter, they can advance to the Ndele Campus for their academic activities.
  3. Most importantly, candidates must strictly comply to all the covid-19 protocols at the venues of the registration exercise and anywhere within the University premises.

The Tony Elumelu Foundation, the number one African-funded and founded philanthropy in the business of empowering African entrepreneurs, is now accepting applications for the 2021 cohort of the TEF Entrepreneurship Programme.

The Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka (UNIZIK) Sandwich programme offers various courses that leads to the award of Bachelors degree and an associate certificate in education during Easter and long vacation periods.

(1) DURATION OF THE DEGREE PROGRAMME: The Degree Programme comprises of:

UNIZIK Sandwich Admission form for 2020/2021 session
a. Four (4) year duration
b. Five (5) year duration, depending on one’s passing level in NCE, OND, HND, UNIZIK DIPLOMA, ASSOCIATE CERTIFICATE AND NABTEB A’ LEVEL.
Plus credit level passes in important subjects in S.S.C.E., G.C.E., W.A.S.C., T.C.II or anything equivalent. Faculty/Departmental requirements must also be fully met.

(2) DURATION OF THE ASSOCIATE CERTIFICATE PROGRAMME (ACP) IN EDUCATION: The Associate Certificate Programme in Education is 2 Years in duration. After Successfully completing the programme, you will be provided with admission opportunities into the 4-Year Degree programme.

Admission Requirement: 5 Credit level passes. Credit in English and Mathematics is required. However, a pass in Maths is accepted for some courses.

PROCEDURE FOR APPLICATION

• For Certificate sighting, Go to Sandwich Unit UNIZIK

• Visit the Registration point at the Sandwich Unit.

• Generate RRR pin for payment for application form.

• For Degree Programme, go with the RRR printout, to any Bank within the campus and make N10,000.00 payment for application form.

• For Associate Certificate Programme, the Application Form will cost N5,000.00 RETURN OF COMPLETED FORMS

• Candidate are then expected to Proceed to the Sandwich Unit’s General Office to submit a photocopy of the online (application form) printout with photocopies of the qualifications securely attached to the application form.
